February Climbed

February was a month of big athletic achievements for me. A friend asked me the other day how I get up every day and train. There is a two-fold answer to this. Firstly, I am human (although my ultimate goal, in addition or as part of becoming as tough as a coffin nail, is the become a cycling cyborg) and some days I can't deal with the thought of training. Most of the time I give myself a pep talk and get moving, but other times I just don't. The second part of the answer is that I have created a new "normal". Training is just part of what I do every day now. I think its some type of mental coping strategy.

The February totals are in:

Run: 76.54km (compared to 170.48 in January)
Cycle: 1,150.97km (compared to 711.03km in January), 313.56km of these were from commuting + 1 x 45min tri spin classes
Swim: 4 x sessions, approx 1 hour and 2km per session (compared to 7 in January)

Estimated training hours: 71:18 hours, or 2:32 hours per day* (compared to 70:13 hours in January)

Estimate of calories burned: More than 44,000 (compared to 30,000 in January)!

*Keeping in mind that when I ride to work it is a minimum 1:10 hour round trip. Great way to beef up the training.
