New Dugong Record

I have two little personal crusades going on as I train for Le Tour and Hawaii Half Ironman. The first is to temper my propensity to be all or nothing (ie. well I can't do a two hour run this morning, so I'll just do nothing and eat half a packet of chocolate biscuits).

The second is to push myself to go faster. I've spent a lot of time pushing myself to go longer, and I think have hidden away from the challenge of being faster by playing the 'I'm an endurance athlete' card.

I had two HARD runs this week. The first was in a 10 minute easy, 20 minutes hard, 10 minutes easy Run, and then the other with a 30 minute run, 60 minute cycle, 10 minute HARD run.

In the 20 minute run I managed to cover 3.85km at an average pace of 5:11 minutes per km.

I was stoked!

Then today I really pushed hard in my 10 minute run effort and managed to cover 2.09km at an average pace of 4:49 minutes per km.

Wow! So happy with that!
